2017 Schedule of Events for the Clarkson Honeyfest

The 23rd Clarkson Honeyfest will be held September 27-30 and we hope you'll join us at The Hatfield Inn for the duration of the festival. From beauty pageants (on September 23) through southern-country/rock bands (ending at 11 p.m. on Saturday, the 30th) -- you'll find something for everyone. Only five minutes from the festivities, the Hatfield Inn welcomes you.

Clarkson Honeyfest Bees

With community support from the entire county, the Clarkson Honeyfest has become one of the biggest festivals in this area of the state. In 2006, it was named the Kentucky State Honey Festival by the General Assembly and welcomes people from this and several surrounding states. When begun, it was named for the Walter T. Kelley Company in Clarkson d/b/a/ Kelley Beekeeping. The Kelley Company is one of the largest producers of beekeeping equipment in the country and the community decided to honor them.

2017 Clarkson Honeyfest Committee

The 2017 Honeyfest Committee members are: Front Row: Kendonna Brannin, Tana Dickerson, Jessica Lowe; 2nd Row: Mary K. Franklin, Beverly Harrison, Joyce Bell, Vanda Ray– Coordinator; 3rd Row: Maxine Edwards, Julie Bessinger. Not pictured: Emily Cannon, Shannon Cates, Kay Gibson

This year's theme is "Proud to Bee American" so the entire town will be decorated with patriotic bees -- big bees, little bees and probably some red, white and blue bees. The parade on Saturday has turned into the largest in the county, with floats, walkers and riders from all over the area. Clarkson Elementary students are big participants in both the parade and all the other festivities.
